Losing weight can be compared to someone who is trying to give up smoking.  If you have been overweight for a long time, you probably have a lot of bad habits that contribute to the weight gain.

Like smoking, over eating is a habit that is quite difficult to break for many people.

It is for this reason why many of us spend the majority of our lives going from one weight-loss program to another in the search for the Magic answer that will get us in the shape we desire.

Once again by likening this to giving up smoking, you will have a considerably better chance of success with weight loss if you have made up your mind completely that this is what you want.

If you start a weight-loss program without the intention of following through to the ultimate outcome then the doubt that is always in the back of your mind will make it so much easier for you to fail.

For most of us it is more about what goes on in our minds than what we are putting into our stomachs and you might have to deal with these issues first before you have any opportunity to lose weight and get in shape.

Mind power is a very powerful thing that can work for or against you.  By eliminating bad habits from your life you will be retraining your mind to accept the new lifestyle as your natural state.   This way you will be able to maintain a good healthy body weight for the long-term.  Hopefully for the rest of your life.

Our subconscious is a powerful force in our lives.  We do most things in our life out of habit.  Once you start turning your bad habits into positive lifestyle changes, you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.  Your bodyweight will no longer be the focus of your life, your new healthy habits and lifestyle will be.
